Villa Renovation and new construction DOMICIL senior care home

Schweinfurt – The construction company Glöckle SF-Bau GmbH is carrying out two projects at once on behalf of HBB in Schweinfurt: the construction of a new Domicil senior care home and the refurbishment of an existing villa. The construction project is well advanced, with overall completion scheduled for the end of February next year.

Work on the senior care home has been underway since spring 2020 on a plot of land directly below the health park at Leopoldina Hospital. This is a 149-bed building with 131 resident rooms with prefabricated wet rooms, a commercial kitchen and a laundry. The new building has a gross volume of 28,830 cubic meters. This is distributed over a partial basement, first floor and three upper floors with flat roofs. Access is via three staircases, a bed elevator, two passenger elevators and a kitchen elevator. Access is only possible via Hennebergstraße.

The building shell and the composite thermal insulation system have been completed, as has the facing brickwork on the ballroom, including shading and guardrails, and the roof with ventilation systems and green roof.

The interior finishing work has been partially completed, including work on the 3rd floor and the basement. Finishing is being done according to the LEAN plan from the upper floors down, including the stairwells.

The high-quality outdoor facilities, including a playground, are being built in part by the construction company Glöckle Hoch- und Tiefbau GmbH. Current status: The drainage has been completed, as have the transformer and the retaining walls. The dry stone wall and the substructure for paths and terraces are in progress. This will be followed by the sprinkler system and planting and fencing.

The construction contract also includes the renovation of an existing and listed villa. It will later be used for residential use by the operator for the nursing staff. Exterior work on the building has been completed, including window and natural stone renovation and roof replacement. The interior measures are also progressing very well: only the sanitary installations, tiling and parquetry work, the doors and the staircase still need to be realized.
