Henderson Park and HBB take over the “Rathaus-Galerie Essen” – Henderson Park debuts on the market in Germany
London, Hamburg 11 September 2019 – Henderson Park, the European Private Equity property platform, and “HBB Hanseatische Betreuungs- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH” have acquired the “Rathaus Galerie” shopping precinct in inner city Essen. Henderson Park acquired the property in a joint venture with HBB, one of the leading German developers, investors and operators in retail property.
HBB is awarded the contract to restructure the “Adler Centre” in Wiesbaden
The owner of the shopping precinct, known as the Adler Centre in Wiesbaden’s “Äppelallee”, has charged “HBB Hanseatische Betreuungs- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft” from Hamburg with developing a new concept and restructuring the property. As a result, the architectural configuration of the Centre has been completely reworked and endowed with a modern and inviting facade. Particular attention in this case was also given to the layout of “Seligmann-Baer-Platz”.

Even though the tenancy agreement for the self-serve department store “Marktkauf” expired, “Hanseatische Betreuungs- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (HBB)” acquired the “Krohnstiegcenter” in North Hamburg in its “Langenhorn” area in 2016. “We spent our money in North Hamburg wisely, because we recognised the opportunity for an attractive development project when the time was ripe“, according to Harald Ortner, HBB’s Managing Director.
