Well provided Life at the Taunus
In Bad Vilbel, north of Frankfurt am Main, the Hamburg-based investor HBB has completed a new senior citizens’ nursing home with 147 care places. In the “city of springs”, senior citizens in need of care and support will find a new home – with a view of the nearby Taunus mountains.
Bad Vilbel – With a population of around 35,000, Bad Vilbel, known for its healing water springs, is the largest town in the Wetterau district of Hesse. Bordering on the northern outskirts of the Main metropolis Frankfurt, the city is characterized by a high quality of life. Infrastructurally, with its convenient connection to Frankfurt and its high purchasing power, it has everything to offer that characterizes city life. In addition, there is a high recreational value, for example, due to the nearby Taunus Mountains, which can be reached quickly.
Because many people in Bad Vilbel are also fortunate enough to be growing older, the need for care and nursing in old age is also growing here. In response to this need, HBB Hanseatische Gesellschaft für Seniorenheime mbH & Co.KG had a modern new senior citizens’ nursing home built on the Heilsberg in Bad Vilbel in a construction period of around 19 months. The contract for the construction of the project was awarded to the medium-sized construction company Glöckle SF-Bau GmbH. The long-established Hamburg-based company HBB invested around 27 million euros in this new building. Nationwide, HBB currently has a total of 44 senior citizen properties built and in its portfolio. 3 further houses are under construction.
Real estate for senior citizens in intact inner-city locations
The house with its high-quality, historic architecture will be handed over to the operator before the end of the year and will in future offer 147 senior citizens a new home with the highest level of care security – combined with many living amenities. “It will have a large ballroom on the ground floor, which will be open to all residents, visitors and people in the neighborhood,” says Oliver Radünz, managing director of HBB. The intention is to create a meeting place for the people of Heilsberg and the surrounding area. This HBB property thus also follows the project developer’s strategy of building properties for senior citizens in intact inner-city locations, where they are part of the respective neighborhood and offer their residents a high degree of social and cultural participation. The guiding principle of the future operator of the senior citizens’ home, DOMICIL Senioren-Residenzen SE, which operates all HBB senior citizens’ care properties throughout Germany, “Mitten im Leben” (“In the middle of life”), fits in with this.
Care and living at a high quality level
In the ballroom of the new DOMICIL Seniorenresidenz, meals will be served in the future that are cooked fresh daily in the in-house kitchen. In addition, the house has its own laundry. “Such housekeeping aspects, in addition to the nursing expertise of our operator DOMICIL, make a decisive contribution to the quality of living and life in the homes we build,” explains Radünz. Locations where these features cannot be implemented are out of the question for HBB.
The nearly 4,500 square meter site on the Heilsberg, on which the new senior citizens’ nursing home now stands, was purchased by the Hamburg investor from the city of Bad Vilbel. In the run-up, the city had a development plan process carried out in which a large number of points had to be discussed and agreed. “A process that we went through in always close and extremely good cooperation with the city,” Radünz looks back with satisfaction.
For Bad Vilbel’s mayor, Dr. Thomas Stöhr, the new senior citizens’ nursing home is a successful addition to the housing market in the Quellen- und Festspielstadt. “Many Bad Vilbel residents would like to remain living in their town even at an advanced age. Since many senior citizens cannot remain in their own home or apartment due to illness, age or housing conditions, they are dependent on such nursing support as well as appropriate residential offers. The Domicil senior citizens’ nursing home therefore offers these Bad Vilbel residents a wonderful opportunity to remain in their town and at the same time to live in a way that is suitable for their age. We have therefore supported the project positively from the outset and are now very pleased about its completion,” said Mayor Dr. Thomas Stöhr.
The result is a three-story T-shaped building with a gable roof that looks like a residential building and blends harmoniously into its surroundings. It is surrounded by a generously landscaped garden that will invite future residents and their visitors to stroll and linger.
