Living with a castle view: Our first house in Coburg

The Hamburg-based HBB Group is building the DOMICIL senior citizens’ nursing home in the Neuses district on Callenberger Strasse on behalf of Scheck Grundbesitz KG. The construction work was awarded to an efficient construction company, Glöckle SF-Bau GmbH from Schweinfurt.

Building construction work will start as early as June 2022. Completion of the building is scheduled for the II quarter of 2024.

This building was also planned by the architectural firm Broll Förster Architekten Part mbB from Berlin. The structure consists of a basement part of the building, which houses, among other things, an underground parking garage, and 2 floors as well as an attic. Here 169 residents will find a modern and attractive home, mainly in single rooms. The size of the rooms exceeds the legal requirements and allows the residents to design them individually, for example with their own furniture if desired.

The property, the former Brauerei Sturm, is around 7,146 sqm in size. The location is good for the construction of a senior care home; to the rear is a small, quiet wooded area, and directly to the south is Hohenfels Castle on a hill. Some of the rooms will not only offer a view of the striking Veste Castle, but also of a second building worth seeing. On the property is a listed villa whose historic architecture will be incorporated into the nursing home. We are creating a harmonious ensemble here, says the managing director of the Hamburg-based investor, Oliver Radünz.

The nursing home in the Neuses district will have a gross floor area of over 10,000 sqm. The high-quality and tranquil garden area in the rear part of the property, planned by the Kiel landscape architects BHF, will offer residents and visitors a retreat that invites them to linger.

The investor developed the project in close and constructive consultation with the city of Coburg. We are investing around 29 million euros here, says managing director Oliver Radünz. In addition, about 80 new jobs will be created. The home in Coburg is already the 49th senior care home of the Hamburg-based project developer. This means that we have already been able to successfully realize around 8,000 care places for the operator DOMICIL, continues Oliver Radünz.
