New openings at the “Krohnstieg Centre” in Hamburg, despite Coronavirus

Krohnstieg Center Hamburg

+++ Edeka and Decathlon open new stores +++ Modernisation of the district centre at “Langenhorner Markt” advances apace. +++ First construction phase is already completed.

Hamburg, 06/05/2020. The new “Krohnstieg Centre” at “Langenhorner Markt” appears in a new guise with attractive new tenants. On Thursday, Edeka and Decathlon are celebrating the opening of their stores, despite restrictions caused by the Corona Pandemic.

As a replacement for the earlier “Marktkauf”, consumers can now shop at the modern hypermarket of “EDEKA Nord” on one level. Over approx. 2,800m2 of retail space, the enticing and freshness-oriented E-Center offers all types of selections.

DECATHLON as the new anchor tenant in the Sport and Leisure sector targeting a wide range of customers. The French-based manufacturer and retailer of sports equipment for a total of 70 different types of sports will in future have around 2,500m2 of retail space in which to offer its goods, but due to Corona, this will be restricted to 800m2.

HBB has implemented the first phase of the modernisation on schedule. The company acquired “Center 2016” and developed a new concept for the Centre that appeared in that year. After receiving building permission, construction work started immediately. Both retailing levels were re-structured over several phases, the facades, car park and mall areas were updated and visually enhanced. Now occurs the further development for the other tenants, Budnikowsky, Takko, Deichmann, KIK, TEDI and others.
